Min. Chong and Martin MacLachlan

Minister of Community, Sport & Cultural Development Ida Chong visited the O’Brian Centre for Vancouver Opera on Saturday morning, taking in a tour of our 30,000 square foot facility. 

She examined the set and costumes for VO’s touring show Hansel & Gretel and, along with VO Board Member Martin MacLachlan, noted the meticulous set model used to build the production. Minister Chong also toured the costume shop and scenery and properties area, the Mission Hill Family Estate Ticket Centre, the administrative offices and music library.

Minister Chong visited with members of the opera company and expressed her continued support of strong cultural organizations across the province.

We are grateful to Minister Chong for taking time on Saturday morning, before returning to her own riding, to stop by and express her interest in our new facility.
